{"id":4946,"date":"2017-03-24T11:08:36","date_gmt":"2017-03-24T17:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=4946"},"modified":"2017-03-24T11:09:06","modified_gmt":"2017-03-24T17:09:06","slug":"tejido-cardiaco-humano-creciendo-en-hojas-de-espinaca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/tejido-cardiaco-humano-creciendo-en-hojas-de-espinaca\/","title":{"rendered":"Tejido cardiaco humano creciendo en hojas de espinaca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unos investigadores han recurrido al sistema vascular de las plantas para resolver un importante problema de bioingenier\u00eda que est\u00e1 bloqueando la regeneraci\u00f3n de tejidos y \u00f3rganos humanos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los cient\u00edficos del sector se enfrentan a un desaf\u00edo fundamental mientras buscan ampliar la escala de la regeneraci\u00f3n de tejidos desde peque\u00f1as muestras de laboratorio a tejidos m\u00e1s extensos, incluyendo piezas \u00f3seas e incluso \u00f3rganos completos, para implantarlos en personas y tratar enfermedades o lesiones graves: c\u00f3mo establecer un sistema vascular que suministre sangre al interior del tejido en desarrollo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las actuales t\u00e9cnicas de bioingenier\u00eda, incluyendo la impresi\u00f3n 3D, no pueden fabricar la red ramificada de vasos sangu\u00edneos hasta el nivel capilar que se requiere para proporcionar el ox\u00edgeno, los nutrientes y las sustancias esenciales que se precisan para un adecuado crecimiento de los tejidos. A fin de solventar este problema, un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n multidisciplinar del Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Worcester, la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison y la Universidad Estatal de Arkansas en Jonesboro, todas estas instituciones en Estados Unidos, ha decidido recurrir a las plantas. Estos investigadores han explorado la posibilidad de usar plantas descelularizadas como andamios, con capacidad de perfusi\u00f3n, para ingenier\u00eda de tejidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las plantas y los animales explotan m\u00e9todos fundamentalmente diferentes para transportar fluidos, sustancias y macromol\u00e9culas, pero existen similitudes sorprendentes en sus estructuras de red vascular. El desarrollo de plantas descelularizadas para servir como andamio abre otro cap\u00edtulo en una nueva rama de la ciencia que investiga el mimetismo entre lo vegetal y lo animal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"IMAGEN_INSERTADA_42628\" class=\"RichTextAlignCenter aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/noticiasdelaciencia.com\/upload\/img\/periodico\/img_42628.jpg\" alt=\"[Img #42628]\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En esta secuencia, una hoja de espinaca es desprovista de sus c\u00e9lulas vegetales, un proceso llamado descelularizaci\u00f3n. El proceso solo deja la vasculatura de la hoja. (Fotos: Worcester Polytechnic Institute)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En una serie de experimentos, el equipo de Glenn Gaudette cultiv\u00f3 c\u00e9lulas cardiacas humanas que pod\u00edan latir sobre hojas de espinaca a las cuales se despoj\u00f3 de c\u00e9lulas vegetales. Hicieron fluir fluidos y microesferas parecidas en tama\u00f1o a los gl\u00f3bulos sangu\u00edneos humanos a trav\u00e9s de la vasculatura de la espinaca, y sembraron con \u00e9xito las venas de esta \u00faltima con las c\u00e9lulas humanas que recubren los vasos sangu\u00edneos. Los investigadores pudieron as\u00ed cultivar c\u00e9lulas card\u00edacas que lat\u00edan sobre tales hojas descelularizadas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esto abre la puerta hacia el uso de m\u00faltiples hojas de espinaca para hacer crecer capas de m\u00fasculo cardiaco sano que permitan dar tratamientos m\u00e9dicos avanzados a pacientes que han sufrido ataques al
