{"id":4986,"date":"2017-03-28T10:38:41","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T16:38:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=4986"},"modified":"2017-03-28T10:38:41","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T16:38:41","slug":"mexicano-ayuda-a-crear-farmaco-contra-celulas-cancerigenas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/mexicano-ayuda-a-crear-farmaco-contra-celulas-cancerigenas\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexicano ayuda a crear f\u00e1rmaco contra c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se encuentra en pruebas de laboratorio en Oxford, donde han observado la capacidad de unirse a prote\u00ednas que desarrollar\u00e1n c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A sus 36 a\u00f1os, el investigador mexicano Abimael Cruz Migoni, forma parte de un grupo cient\u00edfico en la Universidad de Oxford donde desarrollan nuevos f\u00e1rmacos contra la prote\u00edna que conduce a la aparici\u00f3n de tumores: la llamada RAS. \u201cNuestro objetivo es tratar de evitar el c\u00e1ncer mediante el dise\u00f1o de peque\u00f1as mol\u00e9culas capaces de unirse espec\u00edficamente a la prote\u00edna RAS alterada gen\u00e9ticamente, dichas mol\u00e9culas actuar\u00edan evitando la interacci\u00f3n de RAS y prote\u00ednas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n que convierten una c\u00e9lula normal a una cancer\u00edgena\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El biotecn\u00f3logo Cruz Migoni describi\u00f3 que las mutaciones en la prote\u00edna RAS se encuentran presentes en aproximadamente 30 por ciento de los c\u00e1nceres humanos, por lo que el dise\u00f1o de inhibidores espec\u00edficos que regulen la se\u00f1al excesiva de RAS son de gran inter\u00e9s como potenciales f\u00e1rmacos anticancer\u00edgenos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despu\u00e9s de m\u00e1s de cuatro a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n se encontr\u00f3 que entre las ventajas de usar el f\u00e1rmaco que se desarrolla en el Instituto de Medicina Molecular de la universidad brit\u00e1nica, ser\u00eda la acci\u00f3n directa sobre la prote\u00edna RAS alterada gen\u00e9ticamente en c\u00e9lulas tumorales sin afectar las sanas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Actualmente el desarrollo se encuentra en pruebas de laboratorio, posteriormente se probar\u00e1 con diversas l\u00edneas celulares tumorales con el fin de evaluar su efecto inhibitorio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aporte mexicano<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El trabajo cient\u00edfico de Abimael Cruz Migoni, bi\u00f3logo estructural, consiste en determinar la interacci\u00f3n de los nuevos f\u00e1rmacos con la prote\u00edna a trav\u00e9s de la cristalograf\u00eda de prote\u00ednas utilizando el sincrotr\u00f3n Diamond, es decir, uno de los aceleradores de part\u00edculas que permite ver a detalle la interacci\u00f3n molecular de los inhibidores farmacol\u00f3gicos con la prote\u00edna objetivo: la RAS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Detall\u00f3 que durante su doctorado descubrieron una toxina con potencial a usarse en el tratamiento del c\u00e1ncer: \u201cidentificamos la primera toxina de una bacteria con potencial a usarse en el tratamiento del c\u00e1ncer y ah\u00ed surgi\u00f3 mi inquietud en desarrollar y dise\u00f1ar nuevos f\u00e1rmacos que ayuden a combatir este padecimiento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para m\u00ed es un gran orgullo formar parte de este grupo cient\u00edfico y contribuir en la b\u00fasqueda de nuevas formas para combatir el c\u00e1ncer que aqueja a nivel mundial. A futuro, esta ciencia que estamos desarrollando beneficiar\u00e1 a toda la sociedad\u201d, finaliz\u00f3 el doctor en ciencias por la Universidad de Sheffield,
