Seg\u00fan explica\u00a0Omar Yaghi, que tiene la c\u00e1tedra James y Neeltje Tretter en Qu\u00edmica en la UC Berkeley:<\/p>\n<p>Es un avance importante en el desaf\u00edo de larga duraci\u00f3n de recoger agua del aire a baja humedad. No hay otra manera de hacer esto por ahora, excepto mediante el uso de energ\u00eda extra. Los deshumidificadores el\u00e9ctricos de casa &#8216;producen&#8217; agua muy cara.<\/p>\n<p>La luz del sol que entra a trav\u00e9s de una ventana calienta el MOF y conduce el agua ligada hacia el condensador, que est\u00e1 a la temperatura del aire exterior. El vapor se condensa como agua l\u00edquida y gotea a un colector.
