una bacteria fluorescente para detectar minas antipersonales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La investigaci\u00f3n, liderada por la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusal\u00e9n, ha logrado dise\u00f1ar \u201cbiosensores\u201d capaces de detectar por control remoto unos artefactos que cada a\u00f1o hieren o matan<!--more--> a entre 15.000 y 20.000 personas en todo el mundo, recuerdan los expertos.<\/p>\n<p>Esta t\u00e9cnica combina el uso del l\u00e1ser y de una bacteria fluorescente para elaborar un mapa con la localizaci\u00f3n exacta de las minas o munici\u00f3n enterrada, de las que se estima que todav\u00eda existen m\u00e1s de 100 millones en unos 70 pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n<p>Este nuevo sistema, explican, aprovecha las peque\u00f1as cantidades de vapores explosivos que desprenden los artefactos enterrados y que se acumulan cerca de la superficie, las cuales sirven para marcar su localizaci\u00f3n exacta.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de este hecho, los expertos modificaron las mol\u00e9culas de bacterias vivas para conseguir que, cuando entran en contacto con esos vapores, emitan una se\u00f1al fluorescente que se registra y cuantifica en una localizaci\u00f3n remota.<\/p>\n<p>Para sus experimentos, los cient\u00edficos encapsularon las bacterias en peque\u00f1as cuentas polim\u00e9ricas y las esparcieron por la superficie de un campo minado con artefactos explosivos reales.<br \/>\nMapa con minas antipersonales<\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de un sistema de esc\u00e1ner con l\u00e1ser lograron elaborar un mapa con la localizaci\u00f3n de la minas, lo que representa, destacan, \u201cla primera demostraci\u00f3n de una t\u00e9cnica funcional de detecci\u00f3n de minas terrestres\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPara que esto fuera posible, tuvimos que superar varios retos, como aumentar la sensibilidad y estabilidad del sensor de la bacteria, mejorar la velocidad de exploraci\u00f3n para cubrir grandes \u00e1reas y hacer el aparato de escaneado m\u00e1s compacto para instalarlo en dispositivos no tripulados o drones\u201d, indic\u00f3 Shimshon Belkin, de la Universidad
