{"id":5242,"date":"2017-04-18T09:58:12","date_gmt":"2017-04-18T15:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=5242"},"modified":"2017-04-18T09:59:32","modified_gmt":"2017-04-18T15:59:32","slug":"nuevos-nanocables-conectables-a-neuronas-individuales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/nuevos-nanocables-conectables-a-neuronas-individuales\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuevos nanocables conectables a neuronas individuales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unos nuevos nanohilos son capaces de registrar la actividad el\u00e9ctrica de las neuronas con gran detalle.<!--more--> La nueva tecnolog\u00eda de nanohilos podr\u00eda servir alg\u00fan d\u00eda como plataforma para ensayar f\u00e1rmacos para enfermedades neurol\u00f3gicas y podr\u00eda permitir que los investigadores averig\u00fcen m\u00e1s detalles sobre c\u00f3mo se comunican las c\u00e9lulas individuales en grandes redes neuronales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La nueva tecnolog\u00eda es obra del equipo de Shadi Dayeh, de la Universidad de California en San Diego, y Anne Bang, del Instituto Sanford Burnham de Investigaci\u00f3n M\u00e9dica, ambas entidades en Estados Unidos. En dicho equipo tambi\u00e9n han participado cient\u00edficos de la Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica Nanyang (NTU) en Singapur y de los Laboratorios Nacionales de Sandia (EE.UU.), entre otras entidades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es posible averiguar detalles sobre la salud, actividad y respuesta ante f\u00e1rmacos de una neurona mediante la medici\u00f3n de las corrientes de los canales i\u00f3nicos y los cambios en su potencial intracelular, el cual se debe a la diferencia en la concentraci\u00f3n de iones entre el interior y el exterior de la c\u00e9lula. La mejor t\u00e9cnica convencional de medici\u00f3n es sensible a peque\u00f1os cambios de potencial y proporciona lecturas con relaciones de se\u00f1al-ruido elevadas. Sin embargo, este m\u00e9todo es destructivo, puede romper la membrana celular y acabar matando la c\u00e9lula. Tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 limitada a analizar solo una c\u00e9lula a un tiempo, lo que la hace inadecuada para estudiar grandes redes de neuronas, que es el modo en que est\u00e1n dispuestas en el cuerpo de forma natural.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/img_43071.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5245 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/img_43071.jpg\" alt=\"img_43071\" width=\"445\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La tecnolog\u00eda de nanohilos desarrollada en el laboratorio de Dayeh no es destructiva y puede medir simult\u00e1neamente cambios de potencial en m\u00faltiples neuronas, con la alta sensibilidad y resoluci\u00f3n alcanzada por la mejor de las t\u00e9cnicas convencionales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo dispositivo consiste en un conjunto de nanohilos de silicio densamente agrupados sobre un peque\u00f1o chip grabado con electrodos de n\u00edquel que est\u00e1n recubiertos con s\u00edlice. Los nanohilos se introducen en las c\u00e9lulas sin da\u00f1arlas y son lo bastante sensibles como para medir peque\u00f1os cambios de potencial cuya magnitud es de unos pocos milivoltios o de fracciones de milivoltio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los investigadores usaron los nanohilos para registrar la actividad el\u00e9ctrica de neuronas aisladas procedentes de ratones y de otras derivadas de c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas humanas. Estas neuronas sobrevivieron y continuaron funcionando durante al menos seis semanas, mientras estaban conectadas con el conjunto de nanohilos in vitro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Otra caracter\u00edstica innovadora de esta tecnolog\u00eda es que puede aislar la se\u00f1al el\u00e9ctrica medida por cada nanohilo individual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
