Estos trozos de cart\u00edlago con forma de oreja, situados entre los huesos del muslo y la espinilla, amortiguan cada paso que damos. Pero el desgaste de muchos a\u00f1os de vida, o un \u00fanico percance durante un partido de f\u00fatbol o actividad f\u00edsica potencialmente peligrosa, pueden da\u00f1ar de forma permanente estos soportes esenciales, provocando dolor y un mayor riesgo de desarrollar artritis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despu\u00e9s de alcanzar la adultez, nuestro menisco posee una capacidad limitada de regenerarse. Los cirujanos pueden intentar reparar un menisco da\u00f1ado, pero a menudo debe ser retirado de forma parcial o completa. Los implantes disponibles no alcanzan la resistencia y la elasticidad del cart\u00edlago original o no son biocompatibles, lo que quiere decir que no sostienen el crecimiento de c\u00e9lulas para que se regenere la zona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/img_43197.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5298 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/img_43197.jpg\" alt=\"img_43197\" width=\"395\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo material emula las caracter\u00edsticas del cart\u00edlago de los meniscos humanos. Adem\u00e1s, mediante impresi\u00f3n 3D es posible fabricar con \u00e9l piezas a medida para cada paciente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El material basado en hidrogel desarrollado por el equipo de Benjamin Wiley, de la Universidad Duke en Durham, Carolina del Norte, Estados Unidos, es el primero que alcanza en fortaleza y elasticidad el cart\u00edlago humano. Adem\u00e1s, se puede fabricar mediante impresi\u00f3n 3D y es capaz de permanecer estable dentro del cuerpo. Para demostrar lo bien que podr\u00eda funcionar en implantes, a los investigadores les bast\u00f3 usar una impresora 3D de 300 d\u00f3lares. Gracias a las excelentes cualidades del material, el equipo de Wiley logr\u00f3 crear con la modesta impresora meniscos a medida para un modelo de pl\u00e1stico de una rodilla.<\/p>\n<p
