{"id":535,"date":"2015-09-24T13:17:41","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T19:17:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=535"},"modified":"2015-09-24T13:17:41","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T19:17:41","slug":"hombre-paraplejico-logra-caminar-gracias-a-un-bypass-neuronal-utilizan-la-realidad-virtual","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/tech\/hombre-paraplejico-logra-caminar-gracias-a-un-bypass-neuronal-utilizan-la-realidad-virtual\/","title":{"rendered":"Hombre parapl\u00e9jico logra caminar gracias a un bypass neuronal (utilizan la realidad virtual)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mediante un casco y un dispositivo Bluetooth conectado a un sensor en las rodillas del paciente, los investigadores lograron que un joven de 26 a\u00f1os pudiera caminar luego de 5 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Luego de permanecer en estado de\u00a0paraplejia por cinco a\u00f1os, un joven de 26 a\u00f1os que sufri\u00f3 un accidente en motocicleta pudo volver a caminar gracias a un procedimiento denominado como &#8220;bypass neuronal&#8221;, logrando transmitir se\u00f1ales desde el cerebro hasta unos electrodos puestos en sus rodillas.<\/p>\n<p>El joven, que no pod\u00eda movilizar sus extremidades inferiores,\u00a0pudo caminar por a lo largo de un pasillo de 3,6 metros usando un arn\u00e9s que le impidi\u00f3 caer.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo al Dr. An Do, de la Universidad de California Irvine,\u00a0el procedimiento evita que las se\u00f1ales pasen por la m\u00e9dula espinal rota.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Incluso despu\u00e9s de a\u00f1os de par\u00e1lisis cerebral todav\u00eda puede generar ondas cerebrales robustas que pueden ser usadas para lograr una caminata b\u00e1sica&#8221;, asegur\u00f3 el especialista. &#8220;Este sistema no invasivo permite la estimulaci\u00f3n muscular de la pierna. Es un m\u00e9todo prometedor y es una adelanto de nuestros sistemas cerebrales actuales que utilizan la realidad virtual o un exoesqueleto rob\u00f3tico&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien, el paciente tendr\u00e1 que pasar bastante tiempo para poder tener la movilidad que ten\u00eda antes del accidente, el hecho de ser capaz de caminar es un logro importante. Los nervios de la m\u00e9dula espinal son incapaces de regenerarse y si se cortan, por lo general provocan una par\u00e1lisis para toda la vida de forma irreversible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Esperamos que un implante logre un mayor nivel de control de la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fayerwayer.com\/tag\/protesis\/\">pr\u00f3tesis<\/a>porque las ondas cerebrales se registran con una mayor calidad&#8221;, aseguro el Dr. Zoran Nenadic, coautor del estudio, al medio\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stuff.co.nz\/science\/72365846\/paralysed-man-walks-by-brain-power-alone\">Stuff.co.nz.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Para lograr que el paciente diera sus primeros pasos, los investigadores le ense\u00f1aron a controlar su cerebro a trav\u00e9s de realidad virtual, algo que les podr\u00e1 recordar a la pel\u00edcula Avatar.
