La presi\u00f3n de un golpe de martillo para compactar el suelo\u00a0ser\u00e1 suficiente para disponer de ladrillos de construcci\u00f3n en Marte, sin necesidad as\u00ed de emplear un horno o ingredientes adicionales.<\/p>\n

Es lo que sostiene un equipo de investigadores de la Universidad de California en San Diego y financiado por la NASA que ha\u00a0publicado sus resultados<\/a>\u00a0en\u00a0Scientific Reports.<\/p>\n

\n

Ladrillos a martillazos<\/h1>\n

Con los ladrillos que se obtendr\u00edan a base de la mera presi\u00f3n se lograr\u00edan as\u00ed construir h\u00e1bitats en el planeta rojo. La presi\u00f3n ser\u00eda la equivalente aproximadamente de alguien que deja caer un martillo de\u00a0450 gramos desde una altura de un metro.<\/p>\n

El proceso produce peque\u00f1as paletas de suelo redondas que son de aproximadamente 2,5 cent\u00edmetros de altura y luego se puede cortar en formas de ladrillo. Los ingenieros creen que el \u00f3xido de hierro, que da al suelo marciano su matiz rojizo, act\u00faa como agente aglutinante. Adem\u00e1s, estos ladrillos, incluso sin varillas,\u00a0son m\u00e1s fuertes que el hormig\u00f3n armado de acero.<\/p>\n
