A largo plazo, esto podr\u00eda ser la base para un sistema energ\u00e9tico basado en una fuente renovable y econ\u00f3micamente eficiente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El azufre y el \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico se usan en muchas aplicaciones industriales. Hay numerosos procesos qu\u00edmicos en los cuales se les utiliza, como la vulcanizaci\u00f3n, la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico o la eliminaci\u00f3n de azufre en humos industriales t\u00edpicos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El objetivo a largo plazo del proyecto es el desarrollo y demostraci\u00f3n de una innovadora torre de energ\u00eda solar. En ella, un sistema de absorci\u00f3n solar es combinado con un sistema de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda solar termoqu\u00edmico, basado en azufre y \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico. Comparado con conceptos actuales, este nuevo sistema promete reducir notablemente los costes. La tecnolog\u00eda ser\u00e1 ensayada bajo condiciones reales en las instalaciones de la Torre de Energ\u00eda Solar de J\u00fclich (STJ), en Alemania. El proyecto, denominado PEGASUS, est\u00e1 coordinado por el Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Solar del Centro Aeroespacial Alem\u00e1n (DLR).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_43615.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5530 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_43615.jpg\" alt=\"img_43615\" width=\"500\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El equipo de Dimosthenis Trimis, del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Karlsruhe (KIT) en Alemania, se encarga de la ejecuci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica del proceso con el azufre. Se planea desarrollar un quemador de azufre, a escala de laboratorio, que permita una combusti\u00f3n estable en el intervalo de los 10 a los 50 kilovatios, con densidades de potencia altas en condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas est\u00e1ndar y con temperaturas superiores a 1400 grados cent\u00edgrados. La densidad de potencia en particular permite el uso efectivo del azufre como combustible para la producci\u00f3n de electricidad. Aunque la combusti\u00f3n es t\u00edpica de las tecnolog\u00edas empleadas con las energ\u00edas f\u00f3siles, Trimis y sus colegas argumentan que resulta aceptable en el contexto de la transici\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica desde los combustibles f\u00f3siles a las energ\u00edas limpias y renovables.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El azufre empleado se produce a trav\u00e9s de la conversi\u00f3n del di\u00f3xido de azufre (un agente contaminante t\u00edpico producido en actividades humanas) en azufre y \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico. La luz solar enfocada y concentrada de la planta energ\u00e9tica solar suministra la energ\u00eda y la temperatura precisas para cerrar el ciclo del azufre y convertir el \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico de nuevo en di\u00f3xido de azufre, en presencia de los catalizadores adecuados. El di\u00f3xido de azufre es tambi\u00e9n el producto de la combusti\u00f3n del azufre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Se ha comenzado a
