{"id":5588,"date":"2017-05-16T10:06:53","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T16:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=5588"},"modified":"2017-05-16T10:06:53","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T16:06:53","slug":"implantes-medicos-capaces-de-obtener-su-energia-del-propio-cuerpo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/implantes-medicos-capaces-de-obtener-su-energia-del-propio-cuerpo\/","title":{"rendered":"Implantes m\u00e9dicos capaces de obtener su energ\u00eda del propio cuerpo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unos cient\u00edficos han dise\u00f1ado biosupercondensadores capaces de obtener su energ\u00eda del interior del cuerpo humano.<!--more--> Con tan singulares dispositivos ser\u00eda factible hacer m\u00e1s seguros y duraderos los marcapasos y otros instrumentos, haci\u00e9ndolos quiz\u00e1s incluso capaces de funcionar durante el resto de la vida del usuario.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo sistema de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda opera usando part\u00edculas cargadas, o iones, obtenidos a partir de fluidos en el cuerpo humano. El dispositivo es inofensivo para los sistemas biol\u00f3gicos de este \u00faltimo, y su principal utilidad ser\u00eda hacer m\u00e1s duraderos los marcapasos cardiacos y otros aparatos m\u00e9dicos implantables.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La tecnolog\u00eda es obra del equipo de Richard Kaner, de la Universidad de California en Los \u00c1ngeles (UCLA), y James Rusling, de la de Connecticut, ambas instituciones en Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los marcapasos, que ayudan a mantener normales los ritmos cardiacos, y otros dispositivos implantables, han salvado incontables vidas. Pero est\u00e1n energizados mediante bater\u00edas tradicionales que acaban agotando su energ\u00eda y deben ser reemplazadas, lo que implica otra dolorosa operaci\u00f3n quir\u00fargica y el consecuente riesgo de infecci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, las bater\u00edas contienen materiales t\u00f3xicos que podr\u00edan poner en peligro al paciente si experimentan fugas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo sistema permite almacenar energ\u00eda en esos aparatos sin utilizar bater\u00eda. El biosupercondensador se carga usando electrolitos de fluidos biol\u00f3gicos, como el suero sangu\u00edneo o la orina, y funcionar\u00eda con otro dispositivo llamado recolector energ\u00e9tico, que convierte el calor y el movimiento del cuerpo humano en electricidad, de una manera muy parecida a c\u00f3mo se autoabastecen de energ\u00eda los relojes de pulsera que utilizan los movimientos de quienes los llevan puestos. La electricidad es despu\u00e9s capturada por el supercondensador.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Combinando recolectores energ\u00e9ticos con supercondensadores se puede proporcionar un suministro inacabable de energ\u00eda a dispositivos implantables que duren toda la vida y que podr\u00edan no tener que ser reemplazados nunca, tal como argumenta Maher El-Kady, del equipo de
