<\/a><\/p>\nUn equipo australiano-chino ha creado el holograma m\u00e1s delgado del mundo, un hito para integrar la holograf\u00eda 3D en la electr\u00f3nica cotidiana como tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes, ordenadores y televisores.<\/p>\n
Los hologramas 3D interactivos son un elemento b\u00e1sico de la ciencia ficci\u00f3n, desde Star Wars hasta Avatar, pero el desaf\u00edo para los cient\u00edficos que tratan de convertirlos en realidad es el desarrollo de hologramas que sean lo suficientemente delgados como para trabajar con la electr\u00f3nica moderna.<\/p>\n
Ahora un equipo pionero dirigido por el Profesor Distinguido Min Gu de la RMIT University ha dise\u00f1ado un nano-holograma que es simple de hacer, que se puede ver sin gafas 3D y es 1.000 veces m\u00e1s delgado que un cabello humano.<\/p>\n
“Los hologramas convencionales generados por computadora son demasiado grandes para dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos, pero nuestro holograma ultrafino supera esas barreras de tama\u00f1o”, dijo Gu.<\/p>\n
“Nuestro nano-holograma tambi\u00e9n se fabrica utilizando un sistema de escritura directa l\u00e1ser simple y r\u00e1pido, lo que hace que nuestro dise\u00f1o sea adecuado para usos a gran escala y fabricaci\u00f3n en masa.<\/p>\n
“Integrar la holograf\u00eda en la electr\u00f3nica diaria har\u00eda irrelevante el tama\u00f1o de la pantalla: un holograma 3D emergente puede mostrar una gran cantidad de datos que no encajan perfectamente en un tel\u00e9fono o reloj.<\/p>\n
“Desde el diagn\u00f3stico m\u00e9dico hasta la educaci\u00f3n, el almacenamiento de datos, la defensa y la seguridad cibern\u00e9tica, la holograf\u00eda 3D tiene el potencial de transformar una serie de industrias y esta investigaci\u00f3n trae esa revoluci\u00f3n un paso cr\u00edtico”.<\/p>\n
Los hologramas convencionales modulan la fase de luz para dar la ilusi\u00f3n de profundidad tridimensional. Pero para generar suficientes desplazamientos de fase, esos hologramas necesitan estar en el espesor de las longitudes de onda \u00f3pticas, informa Phys.org.<\/p>\n
El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n RMIT, que trabaja con el Instituto de Tecnolog\u00eda de Beijing (BIT), ha roto este l\u00edmite de grosor con un holograma de 25 nan\u00f3metros basado en un material aislante topol\u00f3gico – un nuevo material cu\u00e1ntico que contiene el \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n bajo en la capa superficial, pero el \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n ultra alto en la masa.<\/p>\n
La pel\u00edcula fina de aislador topol\u00f3gico act\u00faa como una cavidad resonante \u00f3ptica intr\u00ednseca, que puede mejorar los desplazamientos de fase para la formaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes hologr\u00e1ficas.<\/p>\n
El Dr. Zengyi Yue, coautor del art\u00edculo con Gaitei Xue de BIT, dijo: “La siguiente etapa para esta investigaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 el desarrollo de una pel\u00edcula delgada r\u00edgida que podr\u00eda colocarse sobre una pantalla LCD para permitir la visualizaci\u00f3n hologr\u00e1fica en 3D.<\/p>\n
“Esto implica reducir el tama\u00f1o del pixel de nuestro nano-holograma, haci\u00e9ndolo por lo menos 10 veces m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o. Pero m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de eso, estamos buscando crear pel\u00edculas delgadas, flexibles y el\u00e1sticas, que puedan utilizarse en toda una gama de superficies, abriendo los horizontes de las aplicaciones hologr\u00e1ficas”.
