Sin embargo, es un material que no contamina tanto como\u00a0su producci\u00f3n.\u00a0A\u00a0nivel mundial, la generaci\u00f3n\u00a0de cemento se traduce en el 7 por ciento de las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono.<\/p>\n<p>El tipo de cemento m\u00e1s com\u00fan a nivel mundial es el cemento Portland, del cual se producen alrededor de 5 mil millones de toneladas. Para hacer este tipo de cemento, se necesita una mezcla de arcilla y caliza. Esta se hornea a altas temperaturas y resulta en rocas llamadas cl\u00ednker. Durante este proceso, de la caliza se separan el calcio y el di\u00f3xido de carbono.\u00a0Es en esa parte de la producci\u00f3n cuando se genera el 65 por ciento de las emisiones en las f\u00e1bricas. El otro 35 se genera por el combustible que se utiliza en el proceso.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-img\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Captura-de-pantalla-2015-09-30-a-las-14.06.15.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pero ahora, un grupo de cient\u00edficos dirigido por Gaurav Sant, del departamento de nanosistemas de UCLA, tienen un m\u00e9todo que har\u00e1 nulas las emisiones.\u00a0El m\u00e9todo consiste en reutilizar el di\u00f3xido de carbono para generar m\u00e1s\u00a0caliza. Sant y sus colegas ya probaron este proceso en su laboratorio y fue un \u00e9xito.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de investigadores asegura que este m\u00e9todo se puede implementar sin problemas en la industria cementera.
