Para lograrlo, el equipo de ingenier\u00eda de Audi ha equipado un sistema de rueda libre similar al que Volkswagen incorpora en el\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/2017\/05\/rueda-libre-contaminacion-volkswagen-golf\">Golf TSI BlueMotion<\/a>\u00a0\u2014y que le permite circular a un m\u00e1ximo de 130 kil\u00f3metros por hora con la unidad de combusti\u00f3n apagada\u2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El sistema de rueda libre\u00a0ha estado presente en las bicicletas durante muchos a\u00f1os, y permite que, aprovechando la inercia ya adquirida, la bicicleta contin\u00fae en movimiento incluso si el ciclista mantiene los pedales est\u00e1ticos en todo momento. Gracias a este sistema, no es necesario acompa\u00f1ar el movimiento de las ruedas con los pedales mientras se desciende una pendiente o se circula por una superficie llana.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>El A8 aprovechar\u00e1 la inercia para mantener la velocidad y, as\u00ed, apagar el motor cuando sea necesario. Tambi\u00e9n predecir\u00e1 las operaciones del conductor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el caso del Audi A8 de s\u00e9ptima generaci\u00f3n,\u00a0el sistema puede permanecer activo de forma continuada durante un m\u00e1ximo de 40 segundos, siempre que las velocidades oscilen entre los 55 y los 160 kil\u00f3metros por hora. Cuando el conductor presione el pedal del acelerador, el motor se activar\u00e1 instant\u00e1neamente, ofreciendo una respuesta similar a los sistemas anteriores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gracias a la inclusi\u00f3n de este sistema,\u00a0Audi afirma que han podido reducir el consumo de combustible en 0,7L por cada 100 kil\u00f3metros, un ahorro considerable considerando las cifras de consumo esperadas de este Audi A8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para complementar este sistema,\u00a0Audi tambi\u00e9n incorporar\u00e1 un sistema\u00a0start-stop\u00a0del motor inteligente\u00a0que, haciendo uso de c\u00e1maras y sensores, tratar\u00e1 de apagar y encender el motor de una forma m\u00e1s inteligente en velocidades inferiores a los 22 kil\u00f3metros por hora. De esta forma, si el A8 detecta que el coche m\u00e1s pr\u00f3ximo est\u00e1 detenido en la calzada, apagar\u00e1 el motor antes incluso de alcanzar el reposo absoluto.
