Son las funciones neuronales que puede simular este\u00a0transistor basado en puntos cu\u00e1nticos, tal y como revela un art\u00edculo publicado en la revista\u00a0Nano Letters.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El transistor tiene partes microm\u00e9tricas y nanom\u00e9tricas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/1366_20001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5981 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/1366_20001.jpg\" alt=\"1366_2000\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Crecimiento epitaxial<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El transistor ha sido concebido gracias a una t\u00e9cnica llamada\u00a0crecimiento epitaxial, que consiste en recubrir un sustrato de cristal con una pel\u00edcula delgada. En este substrato microsc\u00f3pico, las gotitas nanosc\u00f3picas de arseniuro de indio act\u00faan como puntos cu\u00e1nticos, confinando electrones en estados cuantificados.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/news\/2017-06-quantum-dot-transistor-simulates-functions.html\">Tal y como explica<\/a>\u00a0Victor L\u00f3pez Richard, profesor del Departamento de F\u00edsica de UFSCar (Universidad Federal de S\u00e3o Carlos) en Brasil y uno de los coordinadores del estudio:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La caracter\u00edstica clave de nuestro dispositivo es su memoria intr\u00ednseca almacenada como una carga el\u00e9ctrica dentro de los puntos cu\u00e1nticos. El desaf\u00edo es controlar la din\u00e1mica de estas cargas para que el transistor pueda manifestar estados diferentes. Su funcionalidad consiste en la capacidad de contar, memorizar y realizar las operaciones aritm\u00e9ticas simples normalmente realizadas por las calculadoras, pero utilizando incomparablemente menos espacio, tiempo, y poder.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por ahora, funciona s\u00f3lo a temperaturas extremadamente bajas, aproximadamente la temperatura del helio l\u00edquido:\u00a04 Kelvin.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nuestro objetivo es hacer que funcione a temperaturas m\u00e1s altas e incluso a temperatura ambiente. Para ello, tendremos que encontrar una manera de separar los espacios electr\u00f3nicos del sistema lo suficiente para evitar que se vean afectados por la temperatura. Necesitamos mayor control refinado de la s\u00edntesis y t\u00e9cnicas de crecimiento de material con el fin de afinar los canales de carga y descarga.
