Esto tiene el efecto de diversificar las prote\u00ednas que sus c\u00e9lulas pueden producir,\u00a0dando lugar a algunas variaciones importantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este sistema puede haber desencadenado un tipo especial de evoluci\u00f3n basada en la edici\u00f3n de ARN en lugar de las tradicionales mutaciones en el ADN, y que podr\u00eda ser\u00a0responsable del comportamiento complejo y la alta inteligencia exhibida por los cefal\u00f3podos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El ARN se utiliza para transferir instrucciones de tipo software de los genes a la maquinaria de fabricaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas en las c\u00e9lulas.\u00a0M\u00e1s del 60% de las transcripciones de ARN en el cerebro de calamar son codificadas por edici\u00f3n, cuando en el resto de animales, desde las moscas de la fruta hasta los seres humanos, tales eventos de re-codificaci\u00f3n s\u00f3lo ocurren una fracci\u00f3n del 1% del tiempo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
