{"id":6582,"date":"2017-08-04T08:34:02","date_gmt":"2017-08-04T14:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=6582"},"modified":"2017-08-04T08:34:02","modified_gmt":"2017-08-04T14:34:02","slug":"virus-con-nanoparticulas-magneticas-para-matar-a-bacterias-daninas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/nanotecnologia\/virus-con-nanoparticulas-magneticas-para-matar-a-bacterias-daninas\/","title":{"rendered":"Virus con nanopart\u00edculas magn\u00e9ticas para matar a bacterias da\u00f1inas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unos conglomerados de nanopart\u00edculas magn\u00e9ticas armados con virus son capaces de atravesar biopel\u00edculas para alcanzar bacterias que pueden contaminar sistemas de tratamiento de agua y matarlas, seg\u00fan los resultados de unos experimentos recientes realizados por un equipo de cient\u00edficos de la Universidad Rice, en Estados Unidos, y de la Universidad de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda de China.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los nanoconglomerados llevan bacteri\u00f3fagos (virus que infectan bacterias y se propagan entre ellas) y los transportan hasta esos puntos bajo la biopel\u00edcula que generalmente se resisten a la desinfecci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sin el tir\u00f3n del componente magn\u00e9tico del nanoconglomerado, estos virus tienden a dispersarse sin lograr penetrar en las biopel\u00edculas y permitiendo por tanto que las bacterias crezcan en ella e incluso que corroan el metal, un costoso problema para los sistemas de distribuci\u00f3n de aguas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El equipo del ingeniero ambiental Pedro \u00c1lvarez, de la Universidad Rice, desarroll\u00f3 y ensay\u00f3 conglomerados que impiden la dispersi\u00f3n de los virus. Un d\u00e9bil campo magn\u00e9tico atrae a los conglomerados hacia las biopel\u00edculas, y una vez llegan a ellas los virus pueden atacar a sus blancos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este m\u00e9todo novedoso, que surge de la combinaci\u00f3n entre nanotecnolog\u00eda y virolog\u00eda, tiene un gran potencial para tratar biopel\u00edculas dif\u00edciles de erradicar, y en particular promete ser una forma efectiva que no genere subproductos de desinfecci\u00f3n da\u00f1inos, tal como sostiene \u00c1lvarez.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las biopel\u00edculas pueden ser beneficiosas en algunos tratamientos de aguas residuales o en reactores de fermentaci\u00f3n industrial debido a sus tasas superiores de reacci\u00f3n y a su resistencia ante situaciones de estr\u00e9s biol\u00f3gico ex\u00f3geno. Sin embargo, las biopel\u00edculas pueden ser muy da\u00f1inas en los sistemas de almacenamiento y distribuci\u00f3n de agua, dado que pueden dar cobijo a microorganismos pat\u00f3genos que constituyen una amenaza para la salud p\u00fablica y que podr\u00edan tambi\u00e9n contribuir a la corrosi\u00f3n y a las p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas asociadas, tal como argumenta Pingfeng Yu, del equipo de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n utiliz\u00f3 virus que son polivalentes (pueden da\u00f1ar a m\u00e1s de un tipo de bacteria) para atacar biopel\u00edculas cultivadas que conten\u00edan cepas de Escherichia coli generadoras de enfermedades infecciosas, y de Pseudomonas aeruginosa, que es propensa a la resistencia a los antibi\u00f3ticos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los virus fueron combinados con nanoestructuras de \u00f3xidos de hierro, carbono y azufre que fueron modificados a su vez con grupos amino. El recubrimiento con estos \u00faltimos propici\u00f3 que los virus se unieran con las nanoestructuras a trav\u00e9s de la &#8220;cabeza&#8221;, lo que dej\u00f3 a sus &#8220;colas&#8221; infecciosas expuestas y capaces de infectar a las bacterias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los investigadores usaron un campo magn\u00e9tico relativamente d\u00e9bil para empujar a los nanoconglomerados
