{"id":7484,"date":"2017-10-23T08:54:23","date_gmt":"2017-10-23T14:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=7484"},"modified":"2017-10-23T08:54:23","modified_gmt":"2017-10-23T14:54:23","slug":"un-experimento-consigue-evitar-un-cancer-de-higado-en-ratas-con-una-molecula-presente-en-citricos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/salud\/un-experimento-consigue-evitar-un-cancer-de-higado-en-ratas-con-una-molecula-presente-en-citricos\/","title":{"rendered":"Un experimento consigue evitar un c\u00e1ncer de h\u00edgado en ratas con una mol\u00e9cula presente en c\u00edtricos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La hesperidina es una mol\u00e9cula perteneciente al grupo de los flavonoides que se encuentra en la capa interna blanca de las c\u00e1scaras de algunos c\u00edtricos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se cree que juega un papel importante en la defensa de las plantas y, a tenor de las \u00faltimas investigaciones, tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser propuesta como una sustancia candidata en la lucha contra el carcinoma hepatocelular, un tipo de c\u00e1ncer de h\u00edgado que representa el quinto maligno m\u00e1s com\u00fan en el mundo y la tercera causa de muerte por c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La investigadora Zahira Fern\u00e1ndez Bedmar del Departamento de Gen\u00e9tica de la Universidad de C\u00f3rdoba (Espa\u00f1a), junto a otros investigadores, ha conseguido evitar este tipo de tumor en roedores utilizando esta sustancia presente en los c\u00edtricos. Mientras que a un grupo de ratas se le indujo un c\u00e1ncer de h\u00edgado a trav\u00e9s de un compuesto qu\u00edmico cancer\u00edgeno (Dietil nitrosamina), a otro se le suministr\u00f3 hesperidina a una concentraci\u00f3n equivalente a la presente en un vaso de zumo de naranja en combinaci\u00f3n con este elemento cancer\u00edgeno.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seg\u00fan la propia investigadora, a aquellas que hab\u00edan ingerido el flavonoide presente en c\u00edtricos \u201cse les redujo la aparici\u00f3n de n\u00f3dulos casi a cero, como si no hubieran ingerido el carcin\u00f3geno\u201d, por lo que se consigui\u00f3 revertir el efecto nocivo de esta sustancia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La investigaci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 con el estudio de la metilaci\u00f3n global del ADN de c\u00e9lulas de leucemia en diferentes secuencias repetitivas (LINE-1, ALU-M2, SAT\u03b1 y SAT-2), un proceso qu\u00edmico mediante el cual algunos supresores tumorales -que en condiciones normales act\u00faan como freno del proceso cancer\u00edgeno- se inactivan, dando as\u00ed v\u00eda libre a que las c\u00e9lulas se dividan de forma descontrolada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seg\u00fan reflejan los resultados de la investigaci\u00f3n, la hesperidina era capaz de inducir una reducci\u00f3n de los niveles de metilaci\u00f3n sobre las secuencias repetitivas LINE-1 (hasta un 50%) y ALU-M2 (hasta un 32%), lo que da ciertas pistas sobre la utilidad de este flavonoide como herramienta potencial en quimioprevenci\u00f3n y quimioterapia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aunque a\u00fan ser\u00eda necesario desarrollar ensayos cl\u00ednicos que determinen hasta qu\u00e9 punto estos resultados son extrapolables a humanos, lo interesante de esta mol\u00e9cula es que, a diferencia de otras sustancias utilizadas hasta la fecha para el mismo prop\u00f3sito, como es el caso de la decitabina, no es sint\u00e9tica ni t\u00f3xica ni tiene efectos secundarios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En la investigaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n han participado los cient\u00edficos Angeles Alonso Moraga y Jaouad Anter, del Departamento de Gen\u00e9tica, y Juana Mart\u00edn de las Mulas, Yolanda Mill\u00e1n Ru\u00edz y Silvia Guil Luna, del Departamento de Anatom\u00eda y Anatom\u00eda
