En otros, son los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos los que permiten aprovechamientos novedosos, como la \u00faltima investigaci\u00f3n realizada en Espa\u00f1a e Italia para convertir la piel del tomate en un biopl\u00e1stico para la cubierta interior de las latas o para la fabricaci\u00f3n de envases biodegradables.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El aguacate sin hueso\u00a0se cre\u00f3 en Espa\u00f1a ante la persistencia de accidentes dom\u00e9sticos a la hora de deshuesar la fruta. Se consigui\u00f3 con una flor sin polinizar de la que nace un producto alargado, carnoso y de sabor similar al original.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La compa\u00f1\u00eda japonesa\u00a0D&amp;T Farm ha desarrollado la variedad de banana Mongee, cuya piel externa es comestible. Seg\u00fan la compa\u00f1\u00eda, la cubierta de esta fruta es fuente de serotonina (un neurotransmisor), tript\u00f3fano (amino\u00e1cido), vitamina B6 y magnesio.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cuerpo_noticia\" class=\"articulo-cuerpo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>La m\u00e1s innovadora aplicaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica sobre productos de la huerta la han desarrollado el departamento de Biotecnolog\u00eda y Mejora Vegetal del Instituto de Hortifruticultura Subtropical y Mediterr\u00e1nea (de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga y el Centro Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas), el Instituto Ciencias Materiales de Sevilla y el Italiano de Tecnolog\u00eda. Los investigadores han conseguido un biopl\u00e1stico a partir de residuos del tomate que se puede aplicar con un aerosol para recubrir el interior de latas de bebidas y de conservas o para crear envases biodegradables.<\/p>\n<p>El hallazgo permite sustituir la actual capa aislante interior de los envases de aluminio, sobre la que ha advertido la Agencia Europea de Sustancias y Mezclas Qu\u00edmicas por su composici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n se ha difundido a trav\u00e9s de la\u00a0fundaci\u00f3n Descubre\u00a0tras el art\u00edculo\u00a0Cellulose-polyhydroxylated fatty acid ester-based bioplastics with tuning properties: Acylation via a mixed anhydride system, publicado en la revista\u00a0Carbohydrate polymers.<\/p>\n<p>La innovaci\u00f3n ha consistido en sintetizar las propiedades f\u00edsicas y qu\u00edmicas de la cubierta externa de los vegetales, cuyo compuesto principal es un poli\u00e9ster denominado cutina. El producto destaca por ser biodegradable, su falta de respuesta a reacciones qu\u00edmicas, su inocuidad, su permeabilidad al agua, su capacidad para retenerla e impedir la entrada y salida de gases as\u00ed como por su \u201cviscosidad y elasticidad, lo que permite su adaptaci\u00f3n a cualquier superficie\u201d, seg\u00fan explica el investigador de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga Antonio Heredia, responsable de este estudio.<\/p>\n<p>El biopl\u00e1stico se ha creado con piel de desechos de tomate sometida a tratamientos qu\u00edmicos para descomponerla y disolverla. Con el producto obtenido se cre\u00f3 una pasta que mezclaron con alcohol, metanol y acetona. Sometido a una condensaci\u00f3n a m\u00e1s de 120 grados, este producto gener\u00f3 la deposici\u00f3n de una pel\u00edcula naranja y marr\u00f3n ligera y \u201cparecida, en un 90%, a la cutina natural\u201d, seg\u00fan Heredia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section id=\"articulo-tags\"
