La nueva t\u00e9cnica mejorar\u00e1 los aud\u00edfonos y ayudar\u00e1 a los disl\u00e9xicos.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"chapeau\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">n equipo internacional de cient\u00edficos ha descubierto que el ritmo de los impulsos neuronales que transmiten los mensajes auditivos es esencial para la comprensi\u00f3n de la palabra. Ese ritmo es el que provoca la sincronizaci\u00f3n neuronal necesaria para la comprensi\u00f3n del discurso. Los resultados se publican en Current Biology.<\/p>\n<p>La palabra se caracteriza por una serie de sonidos y silencios que tienen un ritmo espec\u00edfico. Este ritmo se convierte en impulsos el\u00e9ctricos transmitidos al cerebro a trav\u00e9s del nervio auditivo.<\/p>\n<p>A este fen\u00f3meno se le conoce como r\u00edtmica de la actividad cerebral, que si bien es conocida su relaci\u00f3n con la motricidad, su funci\u00f3n en la comprensi\u00f3n de la palabra era hasta ahora desconocida. La nueva investigaci\u00f3n arroja luz sobre esta laguna.<\/p>\n<p>Esta funci\u00f3n de la r\u00edtmica cerebral con la comprensi\u00f3n de la palabra se ha descubierto mediante un experimento que pretend\u00eda hacer comprensible un discurso ininteligible mediante estimulaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica transcraneal. Se trata de un procedimiento que, a trav\u00e9s de unas corrientes el\u00e9ctricas muy bajas, consigue estimular ciertas partes espec\u00edficas del cerebro.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores seleccionaron a 22 personas con perfecta audici\u00f3n y les aplicaron electrodos sobre las regiones del cerebro responsables de la audici\u00f3n. De esta forma adquirieron la capacidad de estimular a voluntad las neuronas de estas regiones cerebrales.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el experimento, los voluntarios ten\u00edan que reconocer una serie de palabras al mismo tiempo que recib\u00edan la estimulaci\u00f3n craneal. En una primera fase, los sujetos escucharon una frase aparentemente distorsionada y dif\u00edcil de entender. Sin embargo, cuando la estimulaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica transcraneal conten\u00eda la informaci\u00f3n r\u00edtmica de la frase distorsionada, su comprensi\u00f3n mejoraba considerablemente.<\/p>\n<p>En una segunda fase, los voluntarios escucharon simult\u00e1neamente una voz de mujer y otra de hombre y deb\u00edan concentrarse en la voz masculina.
