Cerca del 80 por ciento de intoxicaciones de As se debe al consumo de carne, pescado y pollo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por esa raz\u00f3n una bi\u00f3loga mexicana egresada del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Valle de Guadiana realiz\u00f3 una investigaci\u00f3n en donde emple\u00f3 nanopart\u00edculas magn\u00e9ticas sintetizadas a partir de hierro y cobre para remover cerca del 95 por ciento de ars\u00e9nico (III y V) en muestras de agua del estado de Campeche y contaminada con (As) en el laboratorio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La mexicana Coraz\u00f3n Morales Amaya, quien lider\u00f3 el estudio, explic\u00f3 que para sintetizar las nanopart\u00edculas que adsorber\u00edan, es decir, atrajeran y acumularan las mol\u00e9culas de ars\u00e9nico del agua, se utiliz\u00f3 el m\u00e9todo de coprecipitaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica, el cual es una mezcla de sales de hierro y cobre que se someti\u00f3 a calentamiento y agitaci\u00f3n constante en un medio b\u00e1sico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDurante la experimentaci\u00f3n se ajust\u00f3 el tiempo y la temperatura para determinar en cu\u00e1nto se logra la mayor remoci\u00f3n del metal. Es importante considerar el tama\u00f1o de las nanopart\u00edculas, ya que entre m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as mejor, dado a que si se obtiene un tama\u00f1o mayor a diez nan\u00f3metros la eficacia en la remoci\u00f3n de los contaminantes del agua disminuye. En esta investigaci\u00f3n se obtuvieron tama\u00f1os de 1.98 y 3.02 nan\u00f3metros\u201d, profundiz\u00f3 la tambi\u00e9n Maestra en Ciencias en Ingenier\u00eda del agua.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Una vez sintetizados los nanomateriales se utilizaron en forma de \u201cferrofluidos nanoparticulados\u201d que dicho en otras palabras, es una \u201csopa de nanopart\u00edculas magn\u00e9ticas\u201d que tiene como fin lograr una mayor capacidad para adsorber el As situado en las muestras de agua previamente obtenida y contaminada en laboratorio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para lograrlo se agreg\u00f3 un mililitro (ml) del ferrofluido en diez mililitros del vital l\u00edquido con ars\u00e9nico. Posteriormente se midieron los resultados en el primer minuto, all\u00ed se adsorbi\u00f3 la mayor parte, cerca del 70 por ciento de ars\u00e9nico. Sin embargo, se midi\u00f3 hasta el 480 minuto, y conforme pas\u00f3 el tiempo hubo mayor remoci\u00f3n del material t\u00f3xico, cerca del 98 por ciento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cabe se\u00f1alar que los nanomateriales magn\u00e9ticos presentaron mayor afinidad para remover el Ars\u00e9nico (III) que es el considerado inorg\u00e1nico y el m\u00e1s t\u00f3xico. No obstante tambi\u00e9n se obtuvieron buenos porcentajes de remoci\u00f3n de As (V) y se lograron resultados hasta por debajo de la norma oficial mexicana. Por lo que a decir de la investigadora estos nanomateriales pueden considerarse una tecnolog\u00eda alternativa y accesible para el tratamiento de aguas contaminadas con metales pesados, espec\u00edficamente para As (III).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La investigaci\u00f3n, que tiene tres a\u00f1os de haber comenzado se realiz\u00f3 en el Centro Universitario de Tonal\u00e1 perteneciente a la Universidad de Guadalajara y se hizo en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma del Carmen, en Campeche.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Actualmente se busca una remoci\u00f3n de otros tipos de contaminantes presentes en el agua para consumo humano con este tipo de nanomateriales en el Centro de Investigaciones de Materiales Avanzados (CIMAV).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fuente: Agencia ID<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uno de los principales problemas que afecta la calidad de agua de consumo humano a nivel mundial es la presencia de ars\u00e9nico (As), dicho metal representa una amenaza a la salud, ya que a concentraciones elevadas es da\u00f1ino y se considera carcinog\u00e9nico.
